I didn't notice they specified that in the show, but you are right. Not that changeling genders are set in stone but I changed it since that's easily fixed. Thank you.
This was sweet, no forced shipping, let the cannon ship sail undisturbed. Personally I prefer cannon ships to be left as they are, feels more accurate to the characters. But this story had a perfect reason for Sandbar and Ocelleus to go on a date with out it becoming more.
I do wonder if things have/will change in changeling families, though my personal head cannon always has been any female changeling can lay eggs but the queen lays most, so not all changelings are directly Chrysalis's offspring but a lot are, but it's preference not criticism.

And yeah, it can be debated whether all changelings came from Chrysalis or not. The show hinted at it in Thorax's flashback but that could easily be explained away if one wanted to. I just prefer the idea because it's true to actual changeling lore where all changelings come from a changeling mother.
I honestly expected that, from the setup, this would turn into a typical Sandcellus story. Nice twist though.

As both a fan and a shipper, I found this to be, absolutely adorable. While the Ocellbar ship is dear to my heart, this characterization of Ocellus seems more accurate than most.
